Dr. Max takes a full-body approach, reading the movement patterns, restrictions, and physical stress that may be contributing to your discomfort, not just the spot where it hurts.
Personalized evaluation · Inner and outer body approach · Advanced mobility and decompression · Conveniently located in Burbank
Pain in one place is often the result of many things working together: how your joints move, where muscles are tight or overworked, the demands of your daily movement, old injuries, and the physical stress of how you sit, stand, and work.
Treating only the spot that hurts tends to bring relief that fades. A whole-body assessment looks for what is actually driving the pain, so the plan addresses the cause and not only the symptom.
Care is structured and progressive, so you understand each stage and why it comes when it does.
A full-body movement assessment to find the restrictions and patterns contributing to your pain.
Hands-on care to release tension and return mobility to the joints and tissue that need it.
Where appropriate, supported decompression to open space in the spine and ease the load on it.
Building the strength and control to hold the gains, so relief lasts instead of returning.
Our signature Motion Frame is a four-point suspension system that supports the body and lets your own weight gently lengthen the spine, no forced pull and no machine driving the load. It is a calm, controlled way to decompress.
Not every patient will use the Motion Frame. Your care is selected after an individual evaluation, and used only where it fits your body and your plan.
Recurring lower back discomfort that keeps returning.
Stiffness after sitting or driving for long stretches.
Difficulty with everyday movement and mobility.
Pain you have managed before that comes back again.
A preference for hands-on, non-drug care.
Dr. Maksim Ishankhanov, DC, known to his patients as Dr. Max, is a highly trained chiropractor known for his precise, results-driven approach to care. He earned his medical degree from Moscow State Medical and Stomatological University, bringing a deeper clinical understanding of the body beyond standard chiropractic training.
Unlike high-volume clinics, Dr. Max works one-on-one with every patient, taking the time to assess, treat, and adjust with intention. His sessions are focused, hands-on, and tailored, with a level of attention that goes beyond the typical appointment.
That precision comes from years of hands-on clinical practice and a full-body philosophy: pain in one place is usually driven by restriction somewhere else, so he reads the whole body before treating the spot that hurts. It is also why he built the Motion Room, a dedicated space for taking the everyday load off the spine and restoring length and mobility where the table alone is not enough.
Patients trust him for more than temporary relief: lasting improvement in pain, mobility, and overall function. His goal is simple, fix the root of the problem, not just the symptoms.

“For years, I dealt with chronic lower back pain throughout my 40s… After just three sessions, the majority of my pain was gone. I couldn’t believe the difference. He took the time to understand what was going on instead of just treating the symptoms.”

“I came in because of back pain and expected the treatment to focus only on my back. Instead, Dr. Max assessed my whole body and started working on my legs… A few adjustments and mobility techniques later, my back felt dramatically better.”
